Route feel

The walk follows the coast south from Bude towards Widemouth Bay, using the South West Coast Path. Expect sea views, open cliff sections and changing weather.

It is best for walkers who are comfortable with coastal paths and proper footwear.

Plan around weather

Wind and visibility matter. If the weather is poor, choose Bude Canal, Summerleaze, Crooklets or a shorter town walk instead.

Check the forecast before you commit and avoid cliff paths in strong wind.

Parking and return options

Think through the return before starting. You can walk out and back, arrange a lift, or use local transport if available. Parking at either end can be busy in peak season.
