WiFi, Internet and TV at Budemeadows
has a site wide WiFi system
which enables wireless internet access across the whole site.
Additionally Grumpy Pete's Bar on site has it's own WiFi
Internet Hot Spot that provides Bar customers with free access to the World Wide Web
using a laptop, tablet or phone.
TV and satellite reception is generally good across the site.
WiFi and internet access
WiFi access to the internet is also provided across the site via a voucher system which provides a user name and password. All you need to do is turn on
your laptop/tablet/phone, start your web browser and enter the
details in the log in screen that appears.
All guests get a data allowance free of charge of 50MB per day per person and additional data tickets can be purchased from reception or Grumpy Pete's Bar.
Free tickets are intended to allow light useage of our WiFi system. The daily allowance should be enough for checking e-mails and some web browsing.
Those who need a faster connection, or more data, can purchase vouchers priced as follows:
- £1 for 100MB
- £5 for 2 GB
- Premium connection:
- £5 for 1GB
- £10 for 3GB
- £15 for 6GB
If you want to download TV/films or catch up on Eastenders then an hours TV on the BBC I-Player at standard resolution uses around 600MB (0.6GB) but please be aware that at peak times it may not be possible to stream TV live.
We've introduced our new scheme to help ensure that everyone can access WiFi across the site and to prevent the system being overloaded. Our aim is to provide a WiFi service which is useable for all who want it. As it is a new system, data allowances and connection speeds may be subject to change.
TV and satellite reception at Budemeadows
The SouthWest was one of the first areas of the UK to switch off its analogue TV signal and change to Digital only TV. This process happened during the late summer of 2009 for our local transmitter at Caradon Hill.
TV reception is quite good (remember to retune if needs be) and you should be able to get a signal anywhere on site. If you want to use satellite TV then there are generally no problems but a few pitchs are close to obstructing trees so please ask when booking if satellite reception is important to you. Both satellite and tv transmitter are in nearly the same direction to the South East.
