Who are we?Meet the team at Budemeadows
Many of our visitors do return year after year, and some, who came themselves as children, now bring their
own children to re-live their memories of holidays in Cornwall.
On site there are the heated swimming pool, outdoor and indoor games to enjoy, and a quiet bar (Grumpy Pete's) in which to relax and enjoy a beer or freshly ground coffee (Pool and Bar open late May to end of August). Our hot chocolate, with or without whippy cream and marshmallows, is popular with our younger guests, and many of our older campers too.
We take pride in our reputation for keeping our toilets and showers clean and tidy and you'll find plentiful hot water without push taps or metered showers. There are private cubicles with toilet and sink available and free hairdryers. All our showers are of a good size and are free to use. We have large disabled facilities with toilet shower and sink which are also available for family use. There is even a bathroom for those who prefer a leisurely soak in a full sized bath. And there is also a baby bath and changing table.
Although you're on holiday sometimes there is washing to be done or towels to be dried and we have excellent laundry facilities on site with good size dryers just right for getting ready for another day on the beach or by the pool. There are 4 main beaches in the area, Widemouth Bay, North and South, Summerleaze and Crooklets in Bude. Widemouth South and Summerleaze are 'dogs allowed' all year.
We have 2 play areas on site, a traditional playground with equipment for a range of ages from wendy houses and castles to our very popular Zip-wire. There are also the usual swings, slides and climbing frames as well as a small football pitch with a couple of goals with nets. Whitsun 2016 saw the installation of some new equipment to replace the well loved but older activities.
The other outdoor games area is near Grumpy Pete's and is home to a giant chess set, Connect 4, table tennis, and skittles. If the sun's just too hot for you there are also a range of bar and board games available in Grumpy Pete's such as shove h'penny, Monopoly and Scrabble. Free WiFi is available to customers in the bar and there is free available across the site. Our free service will allow light surfing or to pick up e-mails. If you need more data or a faster connection there is also a chargeable service.
Our games room is also popular with the children and is equipped with Pool and Table Football (both 50p a game) and a few video games as well as a TV for anyone who needs a fix of the soaps.
We have a Licensed Shop on site (open late May to end of August) which stocks grocery essentials and a range of camping equipment as well as lots of sweets. For many young children a big part of their camping holiday is making a trip to the shop on their own; so we try to make sure that, having raided their piggy banks, there are things they can buy with their hard earned 67p.
During the Whitsun half term week and High Season our Take Away is open for business. We serve a range of normal 'takeaway fare' and wherever possible our food is sourced locally, all our meat comes from a local butcher, the chicken nuggets are actually chicken, and our eggs are local free range. Click here to see our typical breakfast and evening menus. From time to time there are home made cakes and fresh baked cookies available in Grumpy Pete's.
Of course the bar also serves wines and spirits and we have a range of Cornish beers and cider on offer. We also have fresh ground coffee and our excellent hot chocolate.
Off-site the area is well provided with facilities for waterborne activities. As well a number of surf schools and board hire shops in and around Bude, there are also other activity centres offering a range of outdoor pursuits such as rock climbing, abseiling, kayaking, mountain boarding or pony trekking.
All these things make up the essential ingredients for an altogether perfect Cornish campsite holiday, the success of which we will try to ensure.
So don't delay book your Bude camping holiday today.
